Kia India has introduced a 15-year, unlimited-kilometre high-voltage battery warranty for the Carens Clavis EV. The move directly tackles battery degradation and long-term replacement costs, which remain primary concerns for prospective electric vehicle buyers in the Indian market.
Core Terms & Ownership Conditions
The 15-year lifetime protection scheme applies automatically to all new units delivered from August 1, 2026 onwards. However, eligibility depends strictly on usage type and registration details.
- First Private Owner Benefit:The 15-year/unlimited-km coverage is tied exclusively to the original private buyer. It protects against battery health degradation dropping below 70% of original capacity.
- Second-Hand Transferability:If the vehicle is resold, the warranty reverts to a standard 8-year or 1,60,000 km limit from the original date of purchase.
- Fleet Exclusions:Commercial vehicles, taxis, and fleet operators are excluded from the 15-year plan and remain capped at 8 years or 1,60,000 km.
