The Indian family car segment is about to get a high-voltage jolt. On April 2, 2026, Vietnamese EV giant VinFast officially opened pre-bookings for its third Indian offering: the VF MPV 7. With a token amount of ₹21,000, customers can now reserve what is arguably one of the most practical electric vehicles to hit our shores.

Scheduled for an official price reveal on April 15, 2026, the VF MPV 7 isn’t just a car; it’s a statement of intent. VinFast isn’t just targeting eco-conscious buyers; they are going straight for the heart of the family MPV market currently dominated by the Kia Carens and Maruti Ertiga.

Design: The “Golden Ratio” of Space

The VF MPV 7 doesn’t try to look like a futuristic spaceship. Instead, it adopts a functional, boxy silhouette designed around the “golden ratio” of MPV proportions. By pushing the wheels to the absolute corners, VinFast has achieved a massive 2,840mm wheelbase—surpassing many of its mid-size rivals.

    • Signature Lighting: The front features the iconic V-shaped LED light bar, while the main headlamp units are positioned lower on the bumper for a modern, split-face look.
    • Aero Efficiency: Despite its boxy shape, the MPV rides on 19-inch aero-optimized alloy wheels designed to squeeze every kilometer out of the battery.

Performance: 450 km on a Single Charge

Under the floor sits a 60.13 kWh battery pack paired with a front-mounted electric motor.

    • Power Output: It produces a healthy 201 bhp and 280 Nm of torque, allowing this 7-seater to hit 0–100 km/h in under 10 seconds—plenty of pep for highway overtakes even with a full load.
    • Real-World Utility: With a claimed range of 450 km (NEDC), it comfortably handles inter-city runs. When you do need to top up, 80kW DC fast charging can take the battery from 10% to 70% in roughly 30 minutes.

Two Worlds: Private vs. “Limo Green”

In a clever strategic move, VinFast is launching two distinct versions of the vehicle:

    1. The VF MPV 7: The premium, feature-rich version for private families, featuring a 10.1-inch touchscreen, leatherette upholstery, and a minimalist, button-free dashboard.
    2. The Limo Green: A specific variant for the fleet and cab segment. This will serve as the backbone for VinFast’s own GSM (Green and Smart Mobility) ride-hailing service, which is also launching in India to rival Uber and Ola.

    The “Disruptor” Warranty and Benefits

VinFast knows that “range anxiety” and “resale anxiety” are the two biggest hurdles for Indian EV buyers. To counter this, they have introduced an industry-leading support package:

    • 75% Guaranteed Buyback: VinFast is offering a 75% buyback value after two years of ownership.
    • Free Charging: All early birds get free charging at the V-Green network until March 31, 2029.
    • Exchange Bonus: Customers switching from a petrol or diesel car to the VF MPV 7 are eligible for an exchange incentive of up to ₹2 lakh.

    Verdict

With an estimated starting price of around ₹17 lakh–₹19 lakh, the VinFast VF MPV 7 is positioned to be a serious alternative to the upcoming Kia Carens EV and the BYD eMax 7. By combining a 7-seater layout with a massive service expansion (75 dealerships by year-end), VinFast is proving that they aren’t just here to participate—they’re here to lead.
