If you have been eyeing a new Audi to park in your garage, you might want to finalize that booking before the month ends. On March 12, 2026, Audi India officially announced that it will implement a price increase of up to 2% across its entire model lineup, effective April 1, 2026.

    Why the Price Adjustment?

This revision is not an isolated incident but a reflection of the broader economic pressures currently facing the premium automotive sector in India. According to an official statement from Balbir Singh Dhillon, Brand Director of Audi India, the adjustment is necessitated by two primary factors:

    • Rising Input Costs: The global supply chain for luxury vehicles continues to face inflationary pressure, increasing the cost of raw materials—such as high-grade steel, aluminium, and rare-earth metals—essential for manufacturing premium vehicles.
    • Currency Fluctuations: As a premium brand that imports a significant portion of its fully built-up (CBU) units and specialized components from Europe, Audi is particularly sensitive to the euro–rupee exchange rate. Volatility in this currency pair directly impacts the cost of imports, forcing the company to periodically recalibrate prices to maintain operational margins.

What This Means for Potential Buyers

While a 2% hike may seem manageable on paper, it translates into a substantial figure when applied to luxury assets. Based on current ex-showroom pricing:

    • Entry-Level Models: On the Audi Q3, the brand’s most accessible SUV starting at approximately ₹43.23 lakh, the hike could add roughly ₹86,000 to the price tag.
    • Flagship Performers: For the high-performance RS Q8 Performance, which retails near ₹2.38 crore, customers could see an increase of over ₹4.6 lakh.

Industry analysts note that this is the first such price increase announced by Audi in 2026. Other major luxury players, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo, had already implemented similar revisions earlier in January 2026, citing the exact same pressures.

    A Busy Year for Audi

Despite the upward price revision, Audi’s momentum in India remains strong. The announcement comes at a busy time for the brand as it gears up for a series of high-profile launches. The company is currently preparing for the official debut of the Audi SQ8 on March 17, 2026, and has a packed pipeline for the remainder of the year, including the new-generation Q3, Q5, and the highly anticipated A6 e-tron.

For prospective buyers, the remainder of March 2026 offers a limited “price-protection” window. By completing bookings before the April 1 deadline, customers can secure current showroom rates, potentially saving a significant amount on their purchase. If you have been waiting for the right moment to join the “four-ring” family, the clock is officially ticking.
