MG Motor India has officially taken the wraps off its most ambitious project yet—the MG Majestor. Unveiled on February 12, 2026, this ladder-frame giant is being positioned in a self-proclaimed “D+ SUV” segment, sitting comfortably above the Gloster to serve as the brand’s new internal combustion flagship.

With pre-bookings now open for a token of ₹41,000, MG is clearly targeting the Toyota Fortuner Legender crowd with a mix of brute force and high-end tech.

Exterior: Brutalist Design Language

The Majestor is a massive vehicle, measuring over 5 meters in length—making it longer than even a Land Cruiser.

  • The “Mosaic Matrix” Grille: The front is dominated by a gargantuan rectangular black grille, flanked by what MG calls “Dragon Eyes” LED DRLs.
  • Off-Road Stance: It features 19-inch dual-tone alloys and a staggering 810mm water-wading capacity.
  • Colors: Buyers can choose from four monotone shades: Metal Black, Pearl White, Concrete Grey, and Metal Ash.

Interior: A Chauffeur’s Dream or a Family Fortress?

Unlike the Gloster, the Majestor’s cabin—finished in a “Smoked Ebony” black-and-grey theme—feels significantly more upscale.

  • Tech Hub: A free-standing 12.3-inch touchscreen handles the infotainment, while a matching 12.3-inch digital cluster sits behind a new steering wheel.
  • Seating Flex: It will be offered in both 6-seater (with plush captain chairs) and 7-seater layouts.
  • The “Feel-Good” List: MG has packed in ventilated and massaging front seats, a 12-speaker JBL audio system, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.

Performance: Twin-Turbo Muscle

Under the hood, MG is keeping it simple by offering a single, high-output powertrain.

  • The Engine: A 2.0-litre, four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel.
  • The Output: A healthy 215 hp and 478 Nm of torque.
  • Off-Road Hardware: The 4×4 variants come with triple differential locks (front, center, and rear) and a new “M-Crawl” system for low-speed technical off-roading.

Variants and Launch Timeline

MG has confirmed three distinct variants for the Indian market:

  1. Sharp 4×2 (The feature-rich entry point)
  2. Savvy 4×2 (The mid-spec luxury choice)
  3. Savvy 4×4 (The full-blown off-road flagship)

The Roadmap: While the reveal is over, the official price announcement is scheduled for April 2026, with customer deliveries beginning in May.
