To celebrate one successful year of its flagship performance SUV in India, BYD has officially pulled the wraps off the BYD Sealion 7 First Anniversary Edition. Launched yesterday, March 17, 2026, this special edition is designed to reward early adopters of electric mobility with a suite of exclusive ownership benefits and a fresh aesthetic upgrade.
Despite the added value, BYD has strategically kept the pricing identical to the standard model. The Anniversary Edition is available across two trims:
- Premium Variant: ₹49.40 Lakh (Ex-showroom)
- Performance Variant: ₹54.90 Lakh (Ex-showroom)
What’s New: The “Tahiti Blue” Experience
The most noticeable change in the Anniversary Edition is the introduction of the Tahiti Blue interior theme. Replacing the standard dark palette, this new color scheme provides a lighter, more airy feel to the cabin, perfectly complementing the large panoramic glass roof.
The interior remains a tech-focused sanctuary, featuring the signature 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, and Nappa leather seats that are both ventilated and heated.
The Anniversary Offer: ₹1.5 Lakh in Added Value
The core of this launch is a limited-time benefit package aimed at the first 1,100 customers who book the vehicle before April 30, 2026. This package is designed to lower the total cost of ownership and provide long-term peace of mind.
- Home Charging Solution: Buyers receive a complimentary 11kW AC home charger, including professional installation at their residence.
- Free Maintenance: The offer includes 2 years of free service and maintenance, covering routine check-ups and consumables.
- Extended Battery Warranty: In a segment-first move, the low-voltage LFP battery (which powers the car’s electronics) now comes with an extended 8-year or 1,50,000 km warranty, up from the standard 6-year coverage.
Performance and Range
Underneath the commemorative badges, the Sealion 7 remains a performance powerhouse. Both variants utilize BYD’s acclaimed 82.56 kWh Blade Battery, integrated into the chassis via Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology.
- Performance AWD: With a dual-motor setup producing 530 hp and 690 Nm, this variant sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. It offers a claimed range of 542 km (NEDC).
- Premium RWD: Focused on efficiency, this version provides a healthy 567 km (NEDC) range and a 0–100 km/h time of 6.7 seconds.
The Verdict
With over 2,500 units already sold in India since its debut, the Sealion 7 has proven that there is a strong market for premium, high-performance EVs. By introducing the Anniversary Edition without a price hike, BYD is making a strong play against rivals like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6.
If you’ve been on the fence about switching to electric, the combination of the new Tahiti Blue cabin and the complimentary charging infrastructure makes right now the most logical time to join the BYD family.
